Just to say that I enjoyed reading these brief posts. And that I have taught Chaucer to all ages and they've always loved it. Ninety-nine per cent of the time the 'difficulties' of a text are in the teacher's mind and nowhere else. Kids have more open minds, and as long as the teacher's matches theirs, it's all OK...
